In addition to being fully DBS checked, Karyn has a wealth of knowledge and experience in caring for people in many different scenarios and knows that everyone has different needs. Karyn brings years of experience working with various client groups in different environments and a background in education and welfare services. Passionate about supporting disadvantaged people as they develop skills to address problems with more confidence. A qualified yoga instructor and meditation teacher. Involved in many community events, campaigns and fundraisers. A non-judgmental person who has a sincere empathy for others.

Some of her Key Achievements are: 

• Working for a mental health charity supporting individuals to lead a more fulfilled life, in addition to orchestrating events and building strong relationships.

• Karyn has worked as a self-employed counsellor/psychotherapist, including referrals from different health organisations and legal professionals which involved achieving goals and helping people to overcome their fears and anxieties so that they lead more enjoyable and fulfilled lives. Adapting therapeutic techniques that best suit the individual.

• Working as a counsellor and group facilitator for Alcohol Services alongside my private practice. Gained experience working with alcohol and drug dependency and dual diagnosis. Attended ongoing training courses to develop my skills and experience. Band 7 NHS/CWP

• Working as a facilitator/tutor running personal development sessions, counselling and teaching basic skills while continuing with my private practice. Building confidence and succeeding in finding employment for 705 of my clients.

• Setting up a counselling practice. (still active today today)

• Counselling in a Doctor’s Surgery

• Working in mental health day services including supporting service users in daily activities.

• She has orchestrated and directed a variety of shows and art exhibitions.
